Budget Lesotho Rental Terms for travel between 01-May-2012 and 31-Dec-2019

Additional driver
Additional drivers can be added for 250.00 ZAR per instance.
Any additional drivers must be present when you collect the car. All drivers must meet our conditions of rental. See the Driver Licence/ID and Age Requirement sections for full details.

Additional information
South Africa, Namibia , Botswana & Lesotho residents do not qualify for any rate that includes unlimited mileage. International Visitors to Lesotho must present their foreign passport and return airline ticket to qualify for rates with unlimited mileage.

Claim Administration Fee - in the event of theft or damage to the vehicle a charge of 550.00 ZAR will apply (per incident)
Traffic Fine Administration Fee - a charge of 230.00 ZAR will apply (per traffic fine received)
Tyre and Glass Waiver - available to purchase at a cost of 70.00 ZAR

An authorisation deposit will be reserved on the renter's credit card at the time of rental. The authorisation deposit will reduce the funds available in the credit card. Budget does not have the facility to allow the use of Debit or Electronic cards as a method of payment. The Authorisation deposit is as follows:

Age requirement
You must be at least 23 years of age to rent at this location.
If you are between 21 and 22 years of age (inclusive) you must pay an additional driver surcharge of 200.00 ZAR per driver per rental

Neither maximum renting age restrictions nor senior driver surcharges apply.

Collecting & Returning your vehicle
The driver must present proof of identity when collecting the vehicle. Please see the Driving Licence/ID Requirements section for more information.

During Office Hours (Weekdays 08h00 - 17h00)
If you are delayed and arrive outside of office hours due to a delayed flight no additional charge will apply. This only applies if you enter your flight number when booking.
If you are late we will guarantee your rental for 24 hours. After this time your reserved car may be released and rented to another customer.

Out of Office Hours - Collection
It may be possible to collect the vehicle out of office hours. This must be requested at the time of booking. The charge for this service is 70.00 ZAR.

Out of Office Hours - Return
If the vehicle is returned outside of office hours the driver is liable for damage or theft until the car has been inspected by a member of Budget staff.
You may return the vehicle out of hours if you request this at the time of booking. There is no charge for this service.
Instructions to return your vehicle outside of office hours: vehicle keys must be placed in the key returns box.

Delivery & Collection
Delivery and collection charges during office hours (Weekday 08h00 - 17h00):
275.00 ZAR plus 10.00 ZAR per km in excess of every km over 25kms from rental location.

Delivery and collection charges after hours:
550.00.00 ZAR plus 10.00 ZAR per km in excess of every km over 25kms from rental location.

Drivery licensee
For security reasons, renters need to produce a valid form of identification and a valid unendorsed driver's licence at the time of rental.
International visitors are required to produce their passports when collecting their vehicle. Foreign Driving licences are acceptable provided the language used (printed thereon) is English and a photograph must be presented. If a licence is other than English, we require an International Driving Licence to be produced at commencement of the rental or an official translation by a consulate / embassy.

Fuel charges
Budget vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel at the start of a rental. All vehicles will be refuelled by Budget at the end of the rental at cost to you, the renter. Fuel will be charged in accordance with the standard government legislation fuel tariff. Even if the vehicle fuel gauge indicates the fuel tank is full, Budget will still refuel the vehicle. This is to ensure that vehicles are filled to capacity.
Please be aware that you cannot purchase fuel with a credit card at petrol stations.

Payment option
We will take a deposit to cover any costs in case of damage or theft. Please refer to the Waiver and Protection Options section for further information on driver liability.

Cash
Payment by cash is not accepted.
Cash may not be used for the deposit.

Debit Cards
Payment by debit card is not accepted.
Debit cards may not be used for the deposit.

Credit Cards
A credit card in the name of the main driver must be produced at the time of rental.

A credit card used to prepay for a rental on the internet must be produced at the rental counter for verification purposes. If the renter is not able to produce the credit card then the prepaid voucher will not be accepted. Rates including unlimited mileage are not applicable to South African, Namibian, Botswana and Lesotho residents. To qualify for unlimited mileage rates, renters must produce an international passport and return airline ticket to their country of origin. South African renters can obtain quotes on www.budget.co.za.

Credit card Deposit
A deposit will be held on the renter's credit card for the duration of the rental. The authorisation deposit will reduce the funds available in the credit card. Budget does not have the facility to allow the use of Debit or Electronic cards as a method of payment. The Authorisation deposit is as follows:

On termination of the rental the vehicle is returned to the Budget depot where it will be refuelled and checked for damage. On completion of the check-in procedure the rental agreement is charged accordingly. The authorization deposit is then cancelled - this process takes up to 5 working days.

Weekend Credit Card Deposit
Deposit for weekend rentals apply to all credit card rentals that take place over a Saturday or Sunday regardless of what rate code is charged.
Example: any rental where the pickup is from a Thursday and the drop off is on a Saturday / Sunday or Monday

SPQ
Baby seat costs 300.00 ZAR per rental, availability status: on request, allowed on one way.
GPS costs 75,00 ZAR per day, availability status: available, allowed on one way.
Additional driver costs 250.00 ZAR per driver per rental.

Taking your vehicle out of the country

International One Way Fee:
To Namibia - Windhoek 4910.00 ZAR
To Botswana 2100.00 ZAR
To Swaziland 1000.00 ZAR

Any renter wishing to enter Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland must be in possession of a letter of authorisation from Budget Rent a Car, obtainable at the time of rental. The terms and conditions of the rental agreement of the country of origin will apply to cross border rentals. Cross-border rentals are not allowed into Angola, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia or Malawi.

Cross-border fee:
To Namibia & Botswana 1100.00 ZAR
To Swaziland no charge.

Waiver and protection
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver reduces your liability if the vehicle is damaged. If the vehicle is damaged you will pay the cost of repair up to the liability amount.
CDW is included in most leisure rates sold on Budget websites.
This reduces your liability if the vehicle is stolen (subject to a liability)
CDW is available at this location. The costs and liability charges are detailed in the table below. If your rate includes CDW this cost is already included in your rental price.

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
Super CDW reduces the liability you would pay if the vehicle is damaged. The reduced excess is shown in the table below. Super CDW is also known as liability Reduction.

Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection reduces your liability if the vehicle is stolen (subject to a liability). The costs and liability charges are detailed in the table below. If your rate includes Theft Protection this cost is already included in your rental price.

Super Theft Protection (STP)
Super Theft Protection reduces the LIABILITY you would need to pay if the vehicle is stolen. The reduced liability is shown in the table below.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance will be offered to drivers at the rental location. PAI costs 11.00 ZAR per day.
PAI does not cover any person under 17 or over 70 years of age.
The maximum coverage in case of disability (per person) is 19,000.00 ZAR.
The maximum coverage in case of death (per person) is 19,000.00 ZAR.

Third Party Liability
Third Party Liability covers drivers in case of damage, including damage to passengers and their property, when using a Budget vehicle.
Third party liability is included in the rental price.
Maximum coverage in case of personal injury is 5,000,000.00 ZAR.
Maximum coverage in case of death is 5,000,000.00 ZAR.

The renter must purchase either Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) or Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) and Super Theft Protection (STP). Renters may not decline waivers and use credit card insurance cover. Personal property is not covered by the liability waivers reflected above. If CDW, TP, SCDW and STP or any combination thereof is purchased and the vehicle is taken outside the country of origin, with the written consent of Budget Rent a Car, the terms and conditions as stipulated in the rental agreement of the country of origin will apply. All liability waivers shall not include any damage to the vehicle incurred as a result of potholes, dust storms and/or sand. For towing charges the renter will be liable for the full cost of towing and storage costs. These services are supplied by Budget Rent a Car's appointed service providers and can be contacted on 0800 115767. Under carriage damage to vehicles is not covered by CDW and SCDW and will be charged.

Terms of booking on this website

Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
